My Fellow Bloggers, You Have Been Un-spammed.

My first hint that something was off came a while back when some of the comments I received included things like, “Welcome back! I’ve missed your posts.”

The fact was, I had been consistently posting every Friday …

Hmmm …

I also began to notice I had fewer notifications of new posts from many of the blogs I follow. For a long time I figured that as society had been “opening up” and people were less stuck at home, y’all must be getting out more and blogging less. (Not sure why I thought that. I certainly hadn’t been writing less.)

Last night I checked my “spam” folder, and WOW… Looked like y’all were having a party that I wasn’t invited to! I’m not sure how you got there, but I just spent the past hour going through weeks of spam and marking as “NOT spam” the bloggers I have been missing.

So, it’s my turn to say, “WELCOME BACK!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have 282 emails to attend to…

Blessings,

Annie

P.S. A big “THANK YOU!” to those of you who have been loyally reading my posts in spite of my not reading yours lately. And if I ever seem to be making myself scarce, check your spam. Those folders seem to be like ditches we fall into every now and then, except with a real ditch, we’d know it.

  1. This sounds like something that would happen to me! Haha
A couple of weeks ago I wasn’t getting notified of a group message app and I just thought people weren’t using it anymore. No. Somehow the notifications go turned off for that app and I went and seen all these posts I had missed from my group. Lol it happens πŸ™‚

  2. Oh, wow! πŸ˜„ I have bookmarked some blogs because WordPress wasn’t alerting me of their new posts. I’ll go ahead and bookmark yours, too. Hahahaa that’s so crazy. Take care πŸ™‚

  3. This happens to me a lot so I check my spam files a lot.. I also have to re-follow people all the time. I just figured it was something I was doing. Being the suspicious type I silently wonder…

      1. Same here Ann, so I have to go into my reader and look up the blog I have not seen for awhile. I can then follow from there. Also every blog I follow I go into settings and have it delivered by email because I rarely go to into my Word press reader except to manage the blogs I follow about once a quarter. It also tells me when they last posted, be it 2 hours ago or 2 years ago.
The other day someone gave a like to 22 of my blogs in less than 2 minutes. Obviously they didn’t even read the titles. They can do this in their reader by looking up someone, scrolling through and hitting the “Like” button” hoping to get us to their site. “Likes are not an accurate measure of connecting, “comments” are far more valuable, except for guys like me taking up all your comment space…sorry

    1. Oh, I agree 100%. A dozen “likes” within a minute or two mean nothing.
Here’s a weird one. Last night I got a notification that someone new was following me … 7 times. πŸ€”
(My husband said maybe she was just very enthusiastic, lol.)

  4. Yes, indeed, that mysterious spam folder….it’s happened to me many a time. Glad the problems are sorted out for you. And, now, on to check my folder. Thanks for the reminder. It’s been a while since I checked it. πŸ™‚
